Taraba State Implements #30,000 Minimum Wage for Local Government and State Civil Servants


 

Earlier today, the Joint Negotiating Council (Labour side) of Taraba State Chapter, led by its Chairman Comr. Dame Musa, paid a visit to the office of Mr. Babangida Hassan (PhD FCNA), the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau for Local Government, Tradition and Chieftaincy Affairs. The purpose of their visit was to formally submit the copy of the Approval granted by His Excellency for the Implementation of the #30,000 Minimum wage for both Local Government and State Civil Servants.


During the meeting, Chairman Comr. Dame Musa highlighted that this long-awaited minimum wage increase is set to take effect from October 2023. This announcement comes as a much-awaited relief for workers across the state, who have eagerly anticipated this positive change.


Mr. Babangida Hassan, in his comments, expressed admiration for the proactive approach taken by the Governor in addressing poverty within the state. He urged the members of the Joint Negotiating Council to reciprocate the Governor's initiatives by continuing to uphold their dedication and commitment to their respective roles. Additionally, he called upon the citizens of Taraba State to exhibit unwavering dedication within their workplaces, contributing to the growth and progress of the region.


This implementation of the #30,000 Minimum wage marks a significant milestone after a series of approvals and discussions.
